Cecile Ann's Story
Life
I was married for 32 years. My ex husband and I have 4 great kids. I am a breast cancer survivor..:) I was diagnosed October 2008 and finished my last treatment Nov 11, 2009. I proudly had a pink ribbon with the word survivor in the middle tattoed on my right shoulder. I have gone back to LBCC to finish up my AA degree. Hoping to graduate in 2012.
School
The best part of high school, trying out for cheer with Mike Vreeland. Also, trying out for the Kiddetts. Those were fun. Didn't become a cheerleader or a Kiddette, but it was fun anyway. Wished I were friends with more people than the girls I hung out with.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $1 million of it to Cancer Reasearch, then spend the rest on fixing up my current home to sell, move to Washington and build my dream home.
I have learned by my 4 kids to go after what you want to accomplish. I've gone back to LBCC, a few times, only to have to leave due to work. I am hoping to start in the fall and get my AA degree, just to say I did it. Our oldest daughter will be getting her Masters this year. Our 2nd daughter has her BA. After helping them both through school, hoping to go back.
Gosh my oldest friend's would be, Diane Ziegler Wachs, Theresa Powell & Juliet Allen Hough. Diane & Juliet live up in WA. I've been there two times. Theresa lives in Long Beach. I don' t know why we clicked. The 4 of us celebrated us turning 50 3 years ago. Theresa and I took the Amtrak up to WA for a week. Was such a great tim...Expand for more
e. The one person we missed....Marcie King German. She is living in CO.
My first job was at Foto Mat, where I got paid hardly anything to take your film and get it developed. What I remember most about it is being in a very small booth for 8 hours. .
Having my father with me for the first 9 years of my life before he was killed in the Philippines. He was in the Nave. He used to meet my sister, Janie, and I at the pool on base. He had a motorcylce with a side car. He would take, me, my sister and 2 younger brother's for a ride in it every weekend. FUN TIMES. Also, I will never forget my Step Father finding the baby crib I slept in when I was born. I was pregnant with our 4 child. He brought the crib, parts and all, to my home. He helped me strip and re-paint it. My dad died when our daughter was just over a year old. I miss him alot. I have alot of childhood memories I could write about. I moved to the US when I was 9 years old after the death of my father. I met family I didn't know existed. Got to see other countries that we only read about.
Gosh, alot has happened since I first joined Classmates. I am in the middle of a divorce. WIll be final in July. My 23 yr old son & I moved into our own place. I went back to LBCC last year ( 2009 ) to finish up my AA degree). Hoping to go to CSULB for my Bach in accounting or bus. admin.
